It's a typo I think.  I'm guessing it should say 2 people
This is a screenshot from last years sale.....Seems to be intentional, but I too am puzzled by it.

Out of curiosity, what happened with Pendry last year that people feel that its a waste of slots this year?

Sorry, first time SDCC attendee here :)

I can’t tell you who my sources are or who I am. But when I post something like this, it’s accurate. I was however starting to lose faith. I knew the April 11 date. But couldn’t believe onpeak would only give everyone two days.

[member=4284]Jonathan[/member] - Thank you for being persistently secretive.  It helped me prepare my heart for the event...and :o 2 days?? Wow...
It is 2024, and I am still asking...where's my flyin' car??!! @fannishmarcia

[member=8556]d00dz[/member] - As far as we could tell not one person received a room from the lottery at the Pendry.  It was a frustrating turn of events for those who in effect, wasted one of their picks on a hotel that turned out to be unavailable.  And if I remember correctly, it never even showed up as available in the days leading up to SDCC.

My pleasure.  The Pendry sounded like a nice pick.  It may be available this year, but there is no way to tell.  Best of luck!!! No matter what, enjoy the con! We're all in this together  :)

Yeah two days is ridiculous. I have work meetings scheduled. And the guy I'm sharing a room with is not answering my texts. Grrr.

Some people have reported addresses being an issue, but I haven't experienced that myself.  For me, I once got flagged as a duplicate based on first and last name.  I responded to the email stating that I was different from the other person with the super common anglo-saxon name and it was fine.  But yes, names will flag it as a duplicate for sure.
Question: If we ask for five rooms and list five people, should we use fictitious names instead of the names of people in our group or should we use the real names? Would the real names be flagged as duplicate requests?

one primary name for each room.... fake names for the rest of the people in each room

Well, this is the last hurdle to clear before my hype train can officially start.  Best of luck to everyone tomorrow!

Regarding multiple room requests on the same form...Has anyone who requested multiple rooms on the form, gotten only 1 room? Or gotten rooms at different hotels through the same submission form?  In other words, does OnPeak place folk in varying hotels if they run out of a higher choice when asking for multiple rooms on the same form?

Well, like I said, I use different IPs mainly out of paranoia, and also because like others have said, we simply do not know how OnPeak detects duplicate entries nor what they consider duplicates. It could be as basic as phone number, or it could be IP addresses or email addresses or physical addresses or some combination.

So to answer your question, no one knows for 100% certainty if it is an issue or not. If I had to guess, it's not an issue, but I wouldn't bet my savings on it.

This is what the SDCC Blog said about duplicates
"In 2016, we confirmed with onPeak that duplicate submissions were based on three factors: phone number, e-mail address, or a unique identifier associated with the user’s queue/waiting room session (likely the QueueID at the bottom of the waiting room). So if you have multiple roommates working together to try to secure a room, make sure you’re using unique information."

Hope this helps! :D

I have someone in my group who can't get time off with such short notice. If I fill out a form for him myself, using a different computer but from my same location, will that be different enough that I won't show as a duplicate? Or should I just skip making a request for that person to be safe?
