Only four more sleeps (aka an eternity) until Wave 2 emails!   ???
At least some of those nights are the weekend, which usually tends to go by a little faster :)  The Monday into Tuesday morning waiting for an update is the worst wait!

Yup, got it now :) ty
Saw your post there. Have you signed up on the exchange form for placement on the spreadsheet for Round 2, the "second chance" one?

I'm both looking forward to it and wanting Tuesday to be as far off as possible. Like, if Tuesday never comes, then I can't be disappointed.

This is my first year doing the hotel lottery so I'm pretty anxious. I booked a back up deal on priceline that required nothing down just in case, but it's way more money for a hotel that is way less in the lottery AND not even downtown lol. My submission time was 9:04 am, so not great...but not totally a lost cause.

Don't stress out, even if you dont get anything on wave 2, there will be many options on the waitlist sale and if you have nerves of steel, you can watch out for cancelations and try to grab a room that way, they tend to go really fast but if you are lucky and dedicated you can get a great hotel, last year I got the MMM 3 weeks before the con :)

Nice stuff! I keep hearing people get awesome hotels closer to the con. May I ask what days you were able to get at MMM?

I got HBF Wed-sun last year prob about 3 weeks after hotel General sale. If you look at last year's hotel thread you'll see people posted here whenever hotels popped up on the site.

Yes!  Last year it was crazy fun watching and helping folk get rooms.  I hope desirable places pop up this year, too. :D
It is 2024, and I am still asking...where's my flyin' car??!! @fannishmarcia

Onpeak dropped lots of downtown hotels in the weeks leading up to the con.  WOULD NOT recommend relying on this though.  You have to watch the website like a hawk or just be lucky to be there when it posts.  They go quickly. When the second wave is over pick up back up hotel, then monitor the site.  Deposits are refundable, then partially refundable then not refundable as you get closer and closer to the Con. A better hotel is likely to pop after the refundable deposit deadline has passed.  You’ll have to decide if it’s worth eating a deposit somewhere else to move closer.
