Fundays tickets will go on sale on
Wednesday, June 1, 2016 - 12:00pm PT
https://funkofundays2016.eventbrite.com
$120 (plus fees) per ticket
Please read our policies ahead of time so you aren't faced with any surprises when you go to purchase your tickets or arrive at the event!
It's that time again! This year promises to be bigger and better with more entertainment than ever. You'll spend the evening of Friday, July 22nd at the Grand Hyatt Manchester in lovely San Diego with your fellow funatics, Funko employees and special guests. Everyone will be enjoying food, drinks and a full evening of entertainment hosted by Funko's very own Brian Mariotti and Mike Becker. There will be prizes galore, contests, corn, and a whole lot more. And, of course, every attendee receives a legendary Funko "Box O' Fun" just for being part of this annual event. Each attendee also receives two drink tickets, heavy appetizers and enough memories to last three lifetimes.
Tickets will go on sale Wednesday, June 1st at 12 noon Pacific Time. Be ready - tickets will go fast!
Doors will open at 6pm and the evening's entertainment starts at 8pm. In an effort to allow as many different people to attend as possible, there is a limit of TWO (2) tickets per customer. You must register the names for each ticket holder. Only ONE "Box O' Fun" will be given to each attendee. One ticket, one attendee, one box! Repeated for emphasis: one person cannot redeem multiple tickets for multiple boxes of fun
I have a question. Last year I saw the ticket sales notification too late for Fundays.
The tickets had names on them. Did anyone capture the sequence of screens for how to check out, like a step by step walkthrough?
I just want to know exactly what to do in advance to make my checkout go quickly.
Thx
So who is all nervous for tomorrow? This is my first year trying to go. Hopefully the tickets last an hour or so like last year did!
So who is all nervous for tomorrow? This is my first year trying to go. Hopefully the tickets last an hour or so like last year did!
just to be sure, if i am able to get a ticket, i can give it to anybody, right? it's not tied to the name on my eventbrite account?
Their FAQ is a little strange, but you can change the name on the ticket so I'd assume so.thanks
I have a friend who really wants me to go to Fundays but I'm conflicted. Last year I was standing in line for one of the outside events and struck up a conversation with a family who had been to the Fundays event the night before and spoke about how people were being hurt, children were getting slammed into and that it was horrible. Did anyone go last year? Was it really like that?i've never been to fundays myself, but according to a lot of the comments from this sdccblog article from last year. it was really bad, somebody even broke his ankle. :(
Question for those here, though not sure anybody knows the true answer. I'm going to try and get 2 tickets for myself and a friend. But if we can't make it, it says no selling the tickets? I wouldn't want to make money off of them, but if I can't go, just to get back how much I spent. Anybody think I should just forget even trying, since I'm not 100% sure if I can make it?Eventbrite says on their site that you can change the name on the ticket if the vendor allows the option to be enabled. So my guess is funko doesn't have it enabled and u would need to contact them to change.
I have gone for the last 2 yrs and it has got more intense and a couple of ppl get hurt, that being said it is my understanding that they are going to do things differently this year; probably in hopes no one gets hurt.
That was a joke......
Did anyone else have issues with the checkout button? It was slow on my end after clicking on it once 12pm hit. That was it. Wow, already waitlisted. x_x
Did anyone else have issues with the checkout button?
If anyone ends up with a spare we only got 2 of the 3 needed...
Yep, just saw that. Crazy how fast it went, but giving folks so much time to get ready for the sale, I guess it shouldn't be a surprise.
Btw, you can edit the names for each ticket? I didn't hit the edit button but it was there -- the option.
Yes, you can edit the name and email address.Good to know. Thank you.
What was the capacity of the event? Any waitlisters from last year actually get contacted for tickets freed up?
Btw, looks like you can edit the name for each ticket. I didn't hit the edit button but it was there -- the option.
editing is simple- and it's possible to edit the email addy & force it to resend an email to the new person
Tickets are already being sold in the $700's
On the plus side people are tweeting the sales to Funko so they can help them catch these people.
It's sad because there are people who actually want to attend the event, not profit from it. At this point, I may consider paying those gouged prices.

That $700 can go towards something else such as food or paying off bills. And another thing, any ticket could be a fake so again, don't do it. As much fun this event can be, it is not worth $700.
[member=2339]NCDS[/member] were you able to get your tickets?Yes, I never got in but a very good friend did.
Alyssa did you get tickets? I saw Leonard wasn't able to get his :(
@OriginalFunko should kids wear body armor/helmets this year or have you decided to divvy out protos and Freddys in a more civilized way?
@OriginalFunko
@VinhQLy We wouldn't actually recommend this event for small kids. But yes, we have revised our system for handing out freebies.
2:34 PM - 1 Jun 2016
Thanks for the support guys. Guess I'm just really bummed out as I already put a lot of hope and prayer into this trip (as I know is also the case for others). Due to personal circumstance, this may be my first and last trip to Sdcc and after I got Preview night, I was so happy and I guess I was trying too hard to make everything perfect, from hotel to offsites etc. After hours and hours of research on this forum and elsewhere Funko was near the top of my wish list (also have a huge Funko collection). Still I am thankful for everything I have to this point.
Just want to say it has really touched me to see everyone here so supportive and big hearted. Thank you for all the love and I hope you all have a great time

They must realize that no one will ever pay that much just for a ticket. This so reminds me of the early days of the Xbox 360 and PS3 -- shortage for both at their release dates thus crazy prices on EBay. I do hope people are smart enough and don't fall for this trick.
Funko is now stating on Twitter that they will be checking ID on everyone and if it doen't match the ticket it will not be honored. Do not go the scalper route, you will likely just lose your money.
You can go the scalper route you just need them to update the listing on the ticket which you can do. If they won't do that, then it's a scam. Then when they sell it to the next person they will update the ticket with a new name. No one will find out until they are at the event and they get turned down when they scan the ticket as already used.

I was able to get a ticket to this event and was looking forward to it, but...then I read the reviews on SDCCBlog from last year.Funko has said they were rethinking their method of distributing freebies- i expect it to be calmer this year then last
Any good strategies to get some nifty Freddies/Protos while remaining safe? Because it seems like there's some level of mutual exclusivity for those propositions. :X

But what's to stop them from selling the same ticket over and over? I can change the names on the tickets and regenerate the tickets over and over. They could sell one ticket multiple times, and only the first person to use it would get in.
ETA LOL, NCDS and I posted at the same time!
Nothing, that's why you use a reputable scalper. You just don't hand over money, see if they have references, anyone you know, etc. People act like 100% of scalpers will burn you, that's not the case. Do I encourage caution? Absolutely, but if I scalped my ticket I'd hope my previous history dealing with people would speak for itself.
[member=2397]TheNeck[/member] it was really crazy last year and I got hit in the head while some guy tried to grab a shirt from me. However, we are not letting a few bad apples prevent me from having fun.AWESOME!
I just plan to table up with [member=2335]LibertyRoxx[/member] [member=3724]jristen[/member] [member=3729]racheva[/member] [member=1]alyssa[/member] [member=846]rando[/member] [member=2389]Mario Wario[/member] [member=1527]dolphina[/member] ( I haven't even asked some of them) and any other forum member who wants to tag along (hint [member=3963]CaseyJones14[/member] and [member=2397]TheNeck[/member] [member=5910]CathexisZero[/member] ). I bet we have enough for two tables! We can get to know each other and win some Funkos.
At the fugitive toys part I was nervous to get up and do things but [member=314]Transmute Jun[/member] encourage me to do so and I had a lot of fun. These types of parties are a great place to get out of your comfort zone and have a good time. Anywhere at con is a great place to try new things :)
I would like to end the talk of scalpers in this thread and focus on the event. While I understand some people may or may not use scalpers I don't believe this forum is the place to encourage such activity.
I think we need to focus on getting excited for this event and how we are going to have an amazing time no matter what Funkos we get! Plus if [member=1527]dolphina[/member] is at your table she will take a handful of whip cream in the face for the team!!!!
I think I'm going to attempt to "chug" a can o' corn a week or two before just to see how bad it is. I'm an extremely picky eater so it should be interesting :D
Looking forward to partying with all you funatics!
AWESOME!
me & [member=2173]Louie_rob_m[/member] plan on meeting up and going together as well, maybe we can join one of your tables as well. :D
i can't wait now for it, i just started getting into funkos this year, so i know i will have a blast.
I never trust online reviews. If you have a bad experience you are more likely to write a review because you are pissed off, but if you had a good time you probably aren't going to rush to the comment section of a website to tell people you had fun. I'm sure it'll be crazy, but don't believe everything you read online (including this :P)I don't usually either, but I have read crazy reports from various different places (Facebook groups, etc.) However-most people did still have a good time, but did report seeing some craziness. I believe a kid was involved in one of the altercations (hearsay only, on my part). Funko does say it is not an event for little kids, but I don't think that excuses the behavior. I am going to see what the reports are like this year, and maybe try for next year. I would love to go to this-I am a huge Funko fan, but the atmosphere turns me off. Plus-the Box of Fun is usually all Freddy Funko based, and I am not particularly fond of those (weird, I know).

How big are the tables? I'm assuming they'd seat 8-10?
Yeah thanks to [member=2397]TheNeck[/member] i finally gey to attend Fundays! Now im super excited! I'm all about organizing a focc table :)That's great to hear.

Just like anything else SDCC related, if you want a good table you need to line up ahead of time. For those who went last year you know how big the room was. Last year I brought "RESERVED" signs to place on the tables. I managed to get 2 tables next to each other, next to the catwalk. Then as the time got later I opened up the unclaimed seats. I would also suggest bringing noise makers, that is probably something they will continue
That's great to hear.Actually i didnt hear from anyone other than TheNeck, so not sure. Sale was brutal
So how did the rest of the group do?
I was still on the fence about going. I tried getting a ticket, but I guess it wasn't meant to be. Oh well.
Actually i didnt hear from anyone other than TheNeck, so not sure. Sale was brutalYes, the instantaneous sell-out made the group effort impossible. :-\

I would like to sit with you guys. This will be my second Fundays and my son's first.
People actually didn't attempt to take those seats? I'm surprised. I get saving one table, but two? I'd probably be a little salty if I saw that.My own group family/friends was 8 or 9 not including other FoCC members. Between the 2 tables we only had 3 avail seats that went to ppl outside our group. I also had people seating at both seating tables with the reserved signs at the empty chairs, and truthfully, no one had a problem or said anything. FYI, be aware Funko also reserves tables for their guests and employees, so 5-7 tables are already reserved before you even get in.
i Love the idea of a couple of FoCC tablesYes, I can do that, no problem.
maybe we can make up a couple FoCC Reserved signs to make it clear we're all from the forum. that way folks who don't recognize us from previous meet ups can find us easily.
I can provide a pdf of the mini logo or the big bannor which ever might look better. Or i might be able to get them printed too... get with me [member=1527]dolphina[/member] ok?
organizing a line wait makes a LOT sense. We'll need to wait to finalize until the sched. is released but we can start an in thread interest list.

I will gladly sit at a close table if someone wants to hold me a seat (or 2 or maybe 3...)
Sorry this will this will be a team work event, you have to be willing to put in your time.
[member=5986]ryanfromdabay[/member] welcome to the forum. I have personally met a lot of the people going to this event and I can tell you it is a great bunch of people who want to have a good time. Welcome aboard! Keep checking back for when we actually begin to organize based off schedules. Until then check out the rest of the forum, there is a lot of great people here.
[member=5815]ocwankenobi[/member] Don't worry a lot of us love Star Wars also.
Welcome to the forum Ryan! Lots of nice people on here/tons of useful information.
On another note I'm anxiously awaiting news about how they are going to deal with the Funko booth this year. I'm fully prepared to camp out for a ticket to get in line this year.
Pretty sure it's gonna be a camp fest, which is fine. I'll hop in line at 11-midnight after hop con.
Well I just managed to get my ticket off the waitlist so I'm definitely down for sitting with the FoCC group.Congrats

I think this would be a great time to wear our FOCC shirts and show some pride! I know group shirts at these events are common.
If you don't have one order here before June 5th! http://friendsofcc.com/shop/
Not a bad idea. Are we counting the hoodies as well, I already bought one of those.Absolutely! I have one coming also.

Ugh I was hoping to get in line at 3-4 AM hahaThere is another thread in the exclusives area for funko buying at the booth
Omg
***best news of the Day****
I am wicked happy!!! I was sorry when I saw you were still looking after the sale yesterday
Ugh I was hoping to get in line at 3-4 AM haha
4 is probably too late, I got in line at 2-3? Last year for Hasbro and I was fine. Got a 3pm ticket. This year I'll probably just aim for 11 (I'm sure I'll miss it) and wind up in line at 12-1.Please, this is a thread for the fundays event. folks don't need to line up at 3 am when they've got a ticket.

I love you guys, but I'm pretty sure 99% of events would SERIOUSLY discourage/not allow you to make your own reserved seat signs and putting them on tables. That's not really your call, and you'd be liable to get into trouble.
I thought I saw some people on the Funko boards today who got in from the waitlist.

More like we'll have enough folks to hold the table(s) & the signs help folks find us. Remember most of us have never met in person. ;)

Huh? 3am with a ticket? What are you referring to. I wasn't intending at lining up at 3am for Fundays. I think Dolphina had already said elsewhere that an hour before was fine.
Although the chances are prolly slim you should register on the wait list at the Funkofunatic.com website.

i am trying to point out the other thread explicitly for the funkoy booth- this is the thread for the event. Please don't conflate the two.
YAAAAAY!!! Just got my wait list email and I'm so excited!! Also so hopping the other 3 peeps in my group miraculously get theirs but I feel so honored!! Thank you to whomever pulled my name out of the Funko hat!!

Can't believe this one is still up. They even posted the Funko FAQs that state there is no selling your ticket, and they will cancel if they find out.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/301972430688#viTabs_0What a BS line. "There were for our kids, but we thought they were too young for this"

I am NOT a proponent of selling it on ebay. but how would they know ? if you can change the ticket name at any time and you use it only once what is in place for them to stop this outside of some big brother like technology ?Like Karl said, ebay would work with them.
I guess you could win the auction. not pay for it. find out the sellers email. would that work ?
What a BS line. "There were for our kids, but we thought they were too young for this"I love "our loss is your gain" lol. "Oh, except the 500% markup, that part's our gain. Otherwise, total loss on our end."
You knew they were young when you bought them.
This was the plan all along.
Shameful. >:(
The email just stated there was an available spot (only 1 ticket, not 2 like initially) and to click the link in the email. Once you're in you have 8 min to complete the purchase.
The email was in my inbox for about 15 min before I saw it so I don't think there is an exact time limit with the email portion.
I love "our loss is your gain" lol. "Oh, except the 500% markup, that part's our gain. Otherwise, total loss on our end."
Offered $150 for a ticket, it was auto-declined.
If he has the auto decline on for amounts under a certain price he won't even see the offersThe adult side always wins
like a $1, lets get everyone to report him as well
Why report him? Just leave the guy alone, it's not his/her fault that the market justifies that. Increase the supply or reduce demand.
We've had this discussion many times on many threads. Some of us think scalping is wrong, some of us do not. We are never all going to agree, so we should probably stop debating it.
But in general on this forum we try to abide by the rules of the event in question. So if Funko says you're not allowed to resell the tickets (even if they don't make it impossible to do so), then we frown on reselling the tickets.
Since I was pulled from the wait list and am now attending, I hope for some Harry Potter themed Freddys and will be content if I get any proto. The first goal is to snag at least one proto and then I will worry about what I get. Last year I was able to make a proto trade and I will go that route if I am not crazy about the one I get. IF I get one. O0
its time to stop this issue, The funko fundays tickets have brought out the worst in people, this is as bad as the guy on the funkofunatics board saying he gave a wait listed hotel to a funatic and remember him when it comes to giving out waitlist tickets
2013 i got a batman
2014 a joker
2015 a deathstock
i saw walking dead last year, thor characters, american horor story,, the last 2 years
I'm really looking forward to this event!!! This will be my first time attending so any suggestions and recommendations are welcome!!
Still got my fingers crossed for one more ticket!!
Very exciting! I was there last year but left after getting hit in the back of the head with no pops. I'm looking forward to sitting with FoCC friends and making Fundays a positive experience :)we got shirts 2013, amd 2015, 2015 we got pins as well
Yes, the Film Festival is moving to the new part of the Marriott Marquis. I'm guessing that means upgraded room for Fundays. You over on Funko board too? Someone has the exact same avatar and it trips me out. I think Funko staff themselves said it wasn't recommended for young children right? Don't worry, I'll muscle up ;) and make sure people stay safe haha.
Really hoping for a better experience this year. I did manage to get two Freddy's (Deathstroke and Jack Skellington) but I was there with NCDS when she got hit and in general, it was kind of a disaster. There was nowhere to sit, we had to argue with Funko staff to get our boxes of fun, the Star Wars concert (though incredible) made us really late. So this year; getting their early, sitting with friends, and hoping they have a better system for getting Freddy's to people. My best friend and his 6 year old are coming for the first time to Fundays and I want the kid to have the best experience possible.

Also, sorry it might be MMM I forget hotel acronyms I just meant wherever it was last year was pretty big already. Wasn't sure there was aplace that was 50% bigger.
Yep, guilty as charged! That is indeed me. They did and I told my friend that, but his son is dead set on going. That kid once he's made up his mind, it ain't changing. I plan on being his bouncer, no one is going to ruin Fun Days for him.
[member=2335]LibertyRoxx[/member] I thought I was your BF. ( just kidding I have my own)
Yes we shall be there early and I will leave with a Freddy or two of my own :)
I'm good at putting Oreos on the forehead so you can get them in your mouth. I learned that at the Fugitive toy party

The real question is who is good at eating a room temperature can of corn, also we should all study up on Funko history in case of a trivia contest. Not a bad idea at all.
What I don't understand is running out of the boxes of fun, they know how many tickets they sold, so they should have had enough boxes. That's just poor planning or allowing their friends to double dip, either way not a good look.
The real question is who is good at eating a room temperature can of corn, also we should all study up on Funko history in case of a trivia contest.
It sounds like I should wear a helmet, and bring a defense weapon and a container of antacids!!Custom FOCC helmets so we recognize each other? :-D

Soooo who wants to come up with a study guide for Funko trivia lol
Also nice seeing some familiar avatars/users. Should be a good time!
I think you just volunteered :)
I should have known that was coming hahayes, yes, you should have known ;)
So anyone have a Freddy in mind they would like to see at the event? Or a proto they hope snag?
Would love to get my hands on a Tali'Zorah (from Mass Effect) prototype.Dwayne Johnson as the tooth fairy?
Would also love to get my hands on a DOOOOOOOOOOM Freddie, or some OUAT Freddies. Or a Dwayne Johnson Freddie...
No Star Wars concert this year so I plan to be early. That is what caused me to be late last year and it was worth it.
Hi - is there any space for another person at one of the FoCC tables? I got tickets through the waitlist and am headed there alone. I hope to find a good crew to sit with! It's hard to say. If you get in line with the FoCC crew waiting to get in, then of course. But it might be hard if you get there later. It just depends on how many spaces we are able to save

Is there a set time that FoCC want to start waiting online?
I'll be free to start waiting.
how cou;d they have run out of the box of fun, around 10pm i went to get a drink, there was a spot farthest back where you can sneek out to have a smoke on the balcony there was 1/2 skid of them, parked their, 2013 and 2014 i also saw extra's,
I'm hoping this is the right place to put this. My group and I were able to score Funko tickets and Conan Friday tickets. They will still let you in :)
Does anyone know if it is fine to arrive at MGH after 6PM but before 8PM for Funko if we do not mind getting seats that are further from the stage?

I just got off the waitlist! Yeah! I am so excited! This will be my second year.
I am going to be free basically all day so if anyone minds me sitting with them, I can get in line, and be a bathroom break buddy or something. :D

A Message from Funko:
Dear Attendee,
Fundays is just a few short days away!! We are so excited and can’t wait for you all to see the amazing show we have been working so hard to put together!
Please note: there is no advantage to lining up early to enter Fundays this year! Please enjoy everything that SDCC has to offer instead of waiting in line all afternoon. With the seating area opening later than the foyer area, being first in line does not guarantee you first choice at tables. And also - we cannot stress this enough —there is no advantage of being at one table over another!! We recommend showing up no earlier than 5:30pm.
Location: Manchester Grand Hyatt’s SEAPORT BALLROOM (if you attended last year, we are in a different room!) Entry will be on the Kettner Boulevard side of the hotel.
Schedule of events:
6:00pm: Foyer opens
6:45pm: Ballroom (seating area) opens
8:00pm: Show begins!
Take your time and avoid the line!
See you there!
Funko
Didn't they also say they would let us in at 6?
How's the line looking? It is not pretty
So that was fun! Got a golden ticket (still shocked about that) and many cool things. For sure trying for this again next year!

So that was fun! Got a golden ticket (still shocked about that) and many cool things. For sure trying for this again next year!Congrats! That should be an awesome experience. Fundays was my super highlight of the con. Seeing how excited all the fans were for their product was just amazing. I told my friend it was like being back at an Indiana high school basketball game. I'd have no problem just going back for Fundays next year.

It was the highlight of this year for me. Enough said.i initially got willie wonka, mad hatter, and sting. i traded mad hatter for umpa lumpa, and traded sting for charlie brown. personally i like the 3 i got.
And I was more than happy to see that a lot of people didn't value bert and ernie as much as the others. i got my set easily and love it haha. Much easier than getting a skeletor and he-man set.
Congrats! You are very lucky, they no longer offer trips through their Hq. Can't wait to hear the detailsThank you! And for sure!

Sort of surprised that one person from the SDDCU Blog didn't like the change nor had fun. Granted, it did feel controlled at times, minus the golden ticket, but the atmosphere was still fun. Funko did the right thing; it worked. For once no one saw someone hit and push kids around while getting Funkos like in past events. (How is that fun?) But that is their opinion and they have the right to it. For sure trying for Fundays again.
I didn't get punched in the head so that is a win for me! I had fun, the kid we brought was safe and sound the whole time. People around us warned us about thieves so we kept everything in site and had no incidents. With the way they did line up the FOCC tables ended up all over but we had a few close by.Little Ash was there? And yeah, I told my guest to keep everything close to us. I saw it being easy to take things due to the lights being off and being distracted.
Our body guard (Jordan) didn't understand why we needed a body guard because it was low keyed and it was his first Fundays. I like the way it was done and there was plenty of security to prevent bad behavior. My daughter n I definitely want to go again but man it was tough getting tickets this year n next year will prolly be worse since you no longer have to worry about bodily injury.yeah i definitely want to go next year as well, hopefully i get lucky like i did this year and get 2 tickets during the actual sale online.

I even see the bat in the background; this kid is cool! Good job to his parents! Can't wait to see which characters he will cosplay as for Comic-Con 2017.
Sorry have to disagree Team Deadpool !!! LolNope. Now it's time to use the force.
You may have the force but Deadpool had the X-force.Fixed
You may have the force but Deadpool had the X-men watching his back.There. Done. All dead. X marked the spot.
TEAM VADER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And here I thought all of the FoCC people would have been sitting together, and therefore on the same team...?Seems like a majority of FoCC was on Team Deadpool. Booooo

Will do TJ, thank you! As of right now, Funko wants me to worry about the ECCC badge sale. Fine by me. And yeah Dolphina, I can't wait to talk about it/visit their new HQ. Going to be great! I will do my best in reporting in what I see.
