For the first time ever, the hit sitcom visits Comic-Con to kick off its final season with an exclusive look at the show and a panel featuring Josh Radnor (Happythankyoumoreplease), Jason Segel (The Muppets), Cobie Smulders (The Avengers), Neil Patrick Harris (Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog), and Alyson Hannigan (Buffy The Vampire Slayer) and executive producers Carter Bays, Craig Thomas, and Pamela Fryman.
Saturday July 20, 2013 12:00pm - 1:00pm
Indigo Ballroom, Hilton San Diego Bayfront
Ok, so it looks like the HIMYM panel is noon on Saturday in the Hilton Bayfront. We also want to see the Geek & Sundry panel before it at 11. What time would you recommend lining up over there?
-
I'm curious about this as well. I have a 10yo daughter who cannot attend on Saturday and is begging me to go to the Monster High panel for her.
-
HIMYM looks like it's going to be in a smaller room, and I really don't think CCI thought this one through. I've heard that if you don't get there by 4am, you may be out of luck.

Rats. I thought we'd get a little more leeway with this one.

Indigo isn't that small. I think it's #3 after Hall H and Ballroom 20.

Hoping this makes a difference and most people line up Marvel.
-
Yeah some things in your favor include that it's going up against the other 2 bigger rooms and it'll be much more difficult to get in that line without a badge since it's a bit further away.
Would love to see the panel but H wins out. Hopefully will get a replay somewhere.
Moved to the Saturday section just so it's easier to keep organized.
-
I'm hoping to get to this. I'm thinking of getting down there about 7/8am. No idea if that will get me in or not.
-
I'm also planning on getting into this and 4am I think sounds ridiculous. Has anyone camped for Indigo before? Would they let you literally camp out inside since it's in the hotel? I have been to several panels at Indigo, but never like first thing in the morning.

That's a good question - the hotels don't want the campers since they don't have a place to put the lines (partially why no more on-site pre-reg).
I'd say scout the area out day before panel to see where people would be.
-
I think the south door to the lobby would be a good place to camp for Indigo. The morning line usually leads out to the boardwalk.
-
I don't know where exactly you get in line, but one of my roommates camped for Indigo last year at 2 a.m. (for the TV Guide fan favorites panel with Matt Smith), so it is done. She wasn't the only one, either--there were apparently 13 or so other people (mostly Glee fans) in front of her in line.

It's usually south then to the east near the water, but you have to keep that line separated from the Hall H that uses the same area.
I'll be trying for this panel ;D
-
I don't have too much to offer other than I think 4am is way too early unless you want seats more towards the front. I'm trying to get into to it too but I don't think I'll be there that early. Maybe by 10? But I just wanna get in. Oh and just looked at hall h and it is insane so hopefully that takes away some of the crowds.
-
I will definitely be waiting in this line around 2 am..Maybe sooner..... I've had tons of practice waiting in line for harry potter movies, sometimes 12 hours in advance. I really want to see most of it for indigio so I would rather be in front early on, then try and seat hop in between panels. it's not like I have anythign else to do at 2 am lol
-
Gargh! Really wanted to try for Geek & Sundry, but pretty much gave up hope when I realised they were
directly before HIMYM. That said, I think Neil Patrick Harris alone would make this panel worthwhile!
-
I saw that there is an autograph signing as well do we need to line up in sails pavilion to get wristbands in the morning or just line up at the booth?

Should be wristbands. Most booth signings are unless otherwise specified.
-
I think we'll go around 6:30am. Even then I would be very surprised if we didn't get in.
-
So did anyone go to this? How was it? We really wanted to see the Geek & Sundry panel, but decided there was no point since it was right before HIMYM.

It was Legen-wait for it-dary! From a cast that has been working on a sitcom for almost a decade, you expected it to be funny and it was. Some humorous stories, some back and forth, but most memories came from the Q&A. One guy got a high five from Barney and someone else got Robin to sing 'Let's go to the mall' (with the rest of the ballroom as backup of course).
Great time for any HIMYM fans.

I saw the Hall H line and debated getting into this line instead but ended up in H.
Heard this room was PACKED!
Thanks for the quick recap - sounds like I missed a fun one.

The line right around 7am (maybe earlier-my inner clock was messed up all week!) was longer than at that time the day before, but not impossible (we could see from our hotel room). Reports about needing to be in line by 4am were exaggerated (but not unfounded-this room is kind of an unknown as far as early line-up). You probably got an awesome seat if you were there at that time. Was there super-early line up allowed? Where did you guys line up? Would be good info for next year, since this room is getting more popular.
Spoiler TV posted a link to the youtube of the full panel. We will be watching that this week! Hopefully, this link works:
