"As the dust settles on San Diego Comic-Con 2018, and as many hardcore attendees start preparing already for next years landmark Fiftieth Anniversary event, the San Diego Convention Center is already lining up down the road for SDCC 2020, with dates showing up on their website for a ‘Private Convention with Trade Show’ with 135,000 attendees, happening from Thursday 23rd to Sunday 26th July.
As always, that doesn’t necessarily scream Comic-Con and the building does host conventions of that size other than our own Nerd Mecca – however, the dates line up, there’s nothing else in July that comes close and it does follow the Esri International User Conference, the show that Comic-Con traditionally comes after. And come on, it’s 135,000 attendees – that’s gonna be us.
CCI usually announce the official dates for the following years show on their website and in the Souvenir Guide, with next year shaping up to be a big one: not only will the show presumably see the return of heavy hitters such as Marvel Studios, Lucasfilm, THE WALKING DEAD, GAME OF THRONES and the like, but yes, Comic-Con International will no doubt make a big thing of its birthday bash. Why, Comic-Con, you don’t look a day over forty-eight…"
