Hello,I am trying to create a Junior account for a 12 year old who will turn 13 after prereg/open registration, but before SDCC '17. I am unable to enter June 2004 as his birthdate. Is there a reason for this?Thank you,(Resin)
Thank you for your inquiry and we apologize for the confusion. You will not be able to create him a Member ID account until after his 13th birthday. Unfortunately we do not have details on the Child Badge Policy for Comic-Con 2017 available at this time, however updates will be posted here on our website: You are not allowed to view links. Thank you for the reply. However, he will not turn 13 until June, which is months after open registration. If I'm reading the policy correctly, he will no longer be eligible for a child badge and will require a junior account... which I'm not able to create, and therefore cannot buy him a badge. What do I need to do for him to be able to attend in 2017?Thank you,(Resin)
Our apologies for the confusion. We do not have details on Open Online Registration, our our Child Badge Policy for Comic-Con 2017 available at this time, however updates will be emailed to attendees as well as posted on our website. The policy on our website is currently for Comic-Con 2016.
If you are age 12 or under before August 1, 2016, you do not need to buy a badge for Comic-Con 2017. You may attend as a child, with a paying adult. If you are age 13 or older before August 1, 2016, you must create a Comic-Con Member ID and purchase a badge for Comic-Con 2017.
Okay as promised I'm posting the process for children becoming juniors (13 years) for pre-registration eligibility. So as someone mentioned we did have to wait until after August 1st before we could do this. This was the basic process I went through for my nephew...1. Set up a new member-ID (name, address, birth date, etc).Once you do this you need to confirm the email address (you get an email asking you to click a link).2. Then once it's set up you need to click on the registration tab. (I took screenshots of all this but I can't quite figure out how to upload them here). You'll see a message saying "If you attended Comic-Con 2015 as a child click here to be eligible for Comic-Con 2016 Attendee Preregistration!".3. Once you click on it there's a field where you enter the badge number from the child badge. (Side note: if you have more than one child badge like we did I'm not sure if it makes a difference which number you choose... the child badges all look identical but we happen to know which one was my nephew's.)4. After you submit the badge number you get the typical "Congratulations! You have completed your Comic-Con Badge Number validation..." etc. It was pretty simple but for some reason there isn't a clear explanation of the process when you go looking for it.
I have never brought a child to Comic-con - What document or ID is needed to verify age for a Child Badge - or is it on the honor system?
If a child was born on November 23, 2004 (will still be 12 years old for comic-con) - Do they still qualify for a Child Badge - or do they need a Member ID and go through the regular reg process?
