It's great! Last year I was able to get a pic and an autograph with Margaret Atwood at the con!
I also got a hug from Matt Bomer, who was there to promote the Last Tycoon.

Wonder if I can get anyone to pay to fly me over to sell a few books and do a talk?
:)

I go to BookExpo so I get a BookCon ticket as well, but this year I was disappointed in the panel schedule and kind of underwhelmed. I did get to meet and get a pic with Krysten Ritter, though. She was lovely.

I don't get to go to Book Expo since I'm not in the book business (or know someone who is), but I hear it's amazing and always packed with awesome authors, so I can see why you would feel that Book Con last year wasn't that good. I think they have problems getting big names to stick around for Book Con. I did wish there were more panels with authors I liked, but I was able to discover new authors. I did like the autograph sessions you could prebook, that was a nightmare in past years. I usually end up with a bunch of free books which is great.

Just purchased my Saturday ticket. I hope this experience will be better than my first year. For some strange reason, I was expecting more book giveaways than booths selling books (and disappointed that the "professional" section got more free books). That's not to say I didn't buy anything --I discovered NY Book Review, which I still look to for suggestions. I did get to speak with R.L. Stine and was able to let him know that he got me into reading as a kid. Oh and canvas totes. I found a load of canvas totes out in front. I'm really fond of totes. But yeah, I wish more authors would show up on the BookCon side. I hope one day Laurell K. Hamilton will show up --her books got me to through high school. :-)
