So if you'd like to use it for Saturday, you have them activate it the night before or that morning?
asking for a friend lol

You can have them activate it for Saturday now.  But why not keep your powder dry?  Plans change.  Do it the night before so it doesn't bite into precious your badge is good time in the morning.

That's what I wanted to do, just pick up mine so I didn't have to worry about it later or anything. Ah well, I'll pick it up tomorrow.

Our job in Sails today packing books and books.  I stopped by the badge box pick up  and they said Volunteers don't get a badge box this year.

Hey if I were to volunteer for next year's comic con, when does the interest list usually go live?

I'm getting my friend on the list next year!
The time was early this year You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login so hopefully the same time this year. (It'll have it's own thread later!)

So about how long does the list open for? A day, hours?

The first notice (to sign up on the Interest List) lasted a few days.  Second notice (about two months later), where you actually add your name and get accepted into the program, seemed to last under two weeks this year.

(And if, during the second notice, precon shift box was checked, a third notice gets sent out to select a volunteer job before PN.) Lastly, right before Comic-Con, a last notice with barcode registration arrives.

So if you get that third notification, can you consider yourself in? I just wouldn't want to get that far and not buy badges and lose out

You're actually in with the second notice, where you submitted emergency contact info and get the volunteer packet emailed in a reply email.  And your Member ID will have a green checkmark!

I recommended a person on our return bus  with PN because never know.  He really got convinced when showing him this year's Volunteer T-shirt!

Was relieved to see that the volunteer shirts are back to being not boring.

So there was a fringe benefit to working a late Sunday shift.  They laid out some of the excess bags and said we could take one.
