When u hear news or read news about it that is when u know it is here in San Diego and all. seeing postings online or on places when i take bus to trolley and see stuff promoting it , then random people wear badges or packs , etc.

then u see a trolley full of traffic and have chance get a ride to center and see the mad traffic around and outside u know it comic con time lol.

Seems the early bird is ending in April  I was hoping Hotelpocalypse would be earlier as my mom asked if I wanted to travel with her to Asia during that month.

Has the Early Bird sale ever started the year before the Con before? This seems EXTREMELY early (I'm not complaining, just very surprised).  If it doesn't close until 4/25/18 it will be open for five and a half months.

I can't imagine they will actually wait until late April to do Hotelpocalypse, though. They seem determined to do everything much more quickly this year, and April 25 is as late as they've ever had it.

It is very early. BUT it often begins between pre-reg and open reg, so that aspect of the timing is not unusual.

I did not see an ending date for the Early Bird sale, so there was no indication as to when ewe might expect the actual hotel sale.

The only ending type date I saw in the early bird hotel announcement was "Name changes and adding nights to your stay will be accepted through onPeak up to April 25, 2018".

I don't think CCI would wait that late to open the lottery, though

When clicking on a hotel it actually said:

“Note: Offer Expires April 25, 2018 or when supplies are depleted, whichever comes first.”

My number one hope is that they get the changes they want nailed down and it becomes a boring and predictable sequence of events every year :) Too close to the holidays can be a bit of a bummer though since the credit card's already taking a hit.

Has anyone thought that CCI is doing everything around the holidays to weed out the numbers?  With credit cards being used for the holidays maybe they hope it will keep some from participating???  Just a thought.....

Goodness, I hope not.  Although I am having to do some workarounds to make sure I have enough liquid funds for everything.  I am excited to possibly be able to relax and get things together before the new year. :)

TBH.... most of us on this forum are going to find a way no matter what.... but if you don't have the commitment or the funds, this could be a real roadblock.

I suspect they would prefer to avoid the holidays, if they could. I'm sure they just want to get it done earlier.

Personally, I am very happy with the early timeframe. It is a lot less stressful!
