Question - at Hard Rock, is the restaurants (Maryjane's & NOBU) and the bar open to non-guests during Comic-Con?

I know Maryjane's is, not sure about NOBU.
Maryjane's is usually a SyFy installation.

I would think any place around to be ok with any traffic if wanted to bank more while the con is going on. unless they say or have a sign say why u cant visit and buy a drink by chance at time. im just guessing but he could be right .

MaryJane's and NOBU definitely are open to the public during SDCC, but if you want NOBU I suggest trying to get a reservation as soon as they start allowing them. Not sure about the bar.

Mexican food tends to be very friendly to people with gluten sensitivities. (Steer away from flour tortillas, of course) My favorite one that we stumbled upon last year was Las Hadas, on Fourth Avenue, close to Market st. Good prices (no con gouging, at least not last year) and we were a party of 4 that got sat pretty quickly on a packed friday night, so they know how to turn the tables over there. It's definitely on my list for a revisit this year!

These aren't in the gaslamp but places you might want to check out if you are highly sensitive. Cafe Gratitude in Little Italy and, for pizza, Officine Buona Forchetta in Liberty Station. They have a separate fancy oven for gluten flee items.

I've heard both ways.  Do they or do they not do take-out at Joe's Crab Shack during SDCC?

This *might* be a wee bit off-topic for this post, and if so I apologize.

My group and I are coming from the Washington D.C. area.  And one of the things we want to do during SDCC is...pub trivia.  Is there anywhere in the Gaslamp that will do pub trivia during SDCC?  Or would we need to go further out of the city in order to do so?

Either way: any recommendations for good food to go with our bar trivia?

Thanks!

If anyone is interested, I have compiled a list of all of the restaurant's mentioned on this thread (hopefully, I have not left any out). I was able to finish looking up the restaurants mentioned here to check for closures, etc. for 2018

Here are the restaurants that are closed since last year (some, it's just the closest location). There is a separate tab for all closed restaurants.

* Redfield's Sports Bar@MGH (replaced with something else)
* Bottega Americano
* Food Shop
* Hooters (Gaslamp location only)
* Smashburger (Gaslamp location only)
* Sol Cal Café
* The New Yorker SD
* Jamba Juice (Horton Plaza)
* Taco Bell (Horton Plaza)
* Tabletop Commons
* Zia's
* The Works (not sure about this one-per Yelp)

Google doc:

I also made a map of the downtown locations (there is also a link in the header row of the Google doc, in the Map # column)

[Note-it appears to be down right now June 9,2018]

Also added recently mentioned restaurants/resources.

I don't have phone numbers listed, but have the websites. If you think phone numbers would be helpful, I can add them.

eta: Has anyone eaten at Monzu Fresh Pasta yet? I may give it a try. I follow them on Instagram, and it looks amazing.
