My daughter solved the puzzle and took me as her +1.  There was another woman at the same time as us, so 3 of us total.

We waited at a street corner and a man came and led us to the door to the right of the BBQ place.  We entered and walked down the hall to a small dark room.  There was a desk with an old computer and a red rotary dial phone, with a masked person at the table who asked us questions and typed in our answers.  "How old were you when you realized you are alone."  "Are you afraid of the dark."  "What is someone in darkness looking for."  Something like that, anyway  :P  Then the lights came on and there was a fish tank to our right, and on the wall behind the desk there was graffiti on the wall (in black light).  The light goes out and the red phone rang, and my daughter answered.  It was a strange whispery voice talking about E-Corp and its president and giving hints about next season. Then we were given a manila envelope with photos and given 30 seconds to examine them before they were taken back.  Then we were escorted out.

It was weird and cool.  But we couldn't figure it out.

Hm... on further thought I spoilered it just in case even though I already pretty much blabbed it earlier today.

So this is how I think the scavenger hunt should have gone. I didn't go in this strict order.

I doubled spoilered it just in case people are still noodling it or rather live in magical bliss not knowing. I don't think they will do this same puzzle other places. I've never heard of Mr. Robot doing the same thing twice. Last year people thought they would bring the SXSW ferris wheel to SDCC. They didn't.

Easy huh?

I was surprised how many people didn't know about the e-coin thing, I had my card in my phone case and was asked about it a few times.  It was a pretty awesome deal!

Dude, I kept telling everyone I could about getting free food using e-coin. Most people thought I was scamming them. They would bring up the website and then stop. I said to go ahead and sign up. They said they would do it later.

The best deals to use e-coin on were the $9 Burger Lounge burger. Those "sold out". And the $12 Ghiradelli hot fudge sundae. The other food options were a step down.

This sounds so cool. I can't imagine having had the time and energy to devote to it during Con though!

Burger Lounge was good and the Rustic Meatballs had basically any sub sandwich count as 5 in e-coin and it was really good.

They must have changed that policy at some point. When I tried there they were out of meatballs for subs which was the offer on the e-coin website. So he said the 5 e-coin would be used as a $5 discount and then we would pay the difference. The next cheapest sub I saw was $7 or $8. So I went and got a slice of bad pizza instead. Hey, free is free.

Interesting, they must have changed that policy. I got an italian sausage sub for free just e-coin.

Here was the steps needed to figure out the scavenger hunt.  The first will be the actual way to solve it.  The next part will be how I pretty much backed into the solution.

How to Solve:

I just realized I wrote out a full length novel so I'm gonna stop for now.  To be continued...maybe tomorrow.  There's actually a funny ending to my experience.

Yes, I recognized that we were in the scene and playing Angela, but we assumed it was an additional puzzle with another experience if we had solved it. But we just reclaimed our phones and left afterward.

EXACTLY! I commented on that earlier. I was too wound up looking for more clues to actually enjoy it. I was hoping to get a t-shirt out of it. I have every comic-con Mr. Robot t-shirt so I was hoping to get this year's version. The Red Wheelbarrow one just isn't the same.
