Title: Still Looking For A Room For SDCC
Post by: MarvelGurl on May 10, 2019, 09:18:41 AM
I'm aware that the waitlist link is now a public hotel link, but there are a number of people just releasing hotels hoping they go back into the system. I still think a thread like this is beneficial. Of course, again, this comes down to trust, but at least until the cutoff time before you lose one night's deposit it would be great if offers were still put on the table. It would be as easy as a PayPal transaction or whatever method one prefers.

I'm looking for a room in gaslamp near the convention, i.e. MGH, HBF, MMM, HR, Omni, Hilton Gaslamp, San Diego Marriott Gaslamp Quarter, Solomar,

I'm happy to transfer for anyone's gaslamp, as listed above, room from W-M or W-Sun.  I can venmo you the deposit sum and then have us both call onpeak to transfer.  Please PM me!

I will definitely take a Hard Rock if anyone is getting rid of it or needs extra people to help cost

If someone has a downtown room they're planning to release back in the wild, hit me up first? Would love to be closer to the convention.

Also looking for a room, Wednesday through Sunday. Would prefer MMM, MGH, or Bayfront, but anything within walking distance. Also willing to take over reservations that are only for some of those dates. I don't mind hotel hopping.

Also might keep a lookout on the Waitlist discussion thread.  People post hotels that are popping up there.

I haven't booked my room yet and I'm kind of panicking. I've never waited this long. Hotels in the downtown area are just so much more expensive this year.

Best Western Old Town is up.  Sadly, that and Hotel Coronado are all that's available.

There are rooms available for every night of the convention. You may have to move, but you can still stay downtown. After this sale and the way things look currently, I wouldn't keep holding out for any of the big 6.

Hi there!

Just wondering if there are people still waiting for rooms? Is there where to mention it, or the main chat?

Please let me know! :-)

Yes, still looking for a room. Hoping something will drop that is no farther than the Bristol or the Sophia.

I'm still looking. If you're looking for a room, this is the place! Post what you're looking for and the dates. And be sure to check the Wait List discussion linked above! A lot of folks have been lurking onPeak for available hotels :)

Still looking for a two bed room downtown that it's the same vicinity as The Westin, or closer to the convention center. If anyone has any leads please PM me :)

Looking for a room either downtown or somewhere along the trolly line but prefer the Gaslamp if possible. 2 beds required.

It's a long shot, but trying to find MMM for Wednesday and Friday to fill out a reservation for a group! Will take over a full reservation if needed.

Would also take over any hotel in the Gaslamp that's closer than the Indigo if it doesn't get swooped up, haha.

So I booked my room at the residense in 1 mile from the venue right before the badge sale.  I paid 1500 for the 17th through the 22nd.  I thought $300 per night was pretty good for being so close.

Now I see that not only does that hotel have cheaper rooms than that suddenly available, but the marriot at the venue has for less than I paid as well.  I am very confused, but booked the marriot.  I still have the residence inn reservation in case marriott decides they made a mistake or I wake up and realize it was all a dream.

Hello! Looking for a downtown room, double bed, for Thur and Friday night. Please message me if you have or know of anything, thank you!
Check the "hotel offers" section. Even though some reservations are for 4 or 5 days, you may be able to shorten the reservation to 2 days since that has already been paid for(deposit).

Did you get Marriott Marquis or Gaslamp? Was looking at the Marriott Marquis for prices and they were all still pricy.

Thanks I didn't see anything with 2 beds but I'll check again and keep checking.

Yes, it Is definitely the Marriott Marquis next to the convention center.  I ended up canceling that residence inn reservation and booked 2 rooms at the Marriott from the 18th-22nd for $350 per night plus taxes.  I am looking for room mates for my reservation which they gave me a complimentary upgrade to a large corner room with 1 king bed and a pull out couch.  The other reservation was split up into 3 one day reservations for the 18th, 19th, and 20th.  Someone already claimed the 18th and 20th, but the room for the 19th is still available.  It is just a standard room with 1 king bed.
