If my Thursday night wasn't already packed and double/triple booked I'd be down for this.

Jeeziz man!  Is Thursday party day for Comic Con?  Pace yourself guys!

If I was staying in Downtown, I'd check this out with VIP Bar Card.  Its basically free.

If I didn't have other plans at that time, I'd probably go to this! But Rave of Thrones comes around to the east coast a lot, so I'm sure that I will get a chance to see this someday ;)

You'd be surprised if drinks are $15 a pop

That's exactly what I was thinking! Although I guess beer might be cheaper? I don't like beer so I'm always paying for $15 cocktails, lol.

Porter is going to spin a wicked set, but why is this Rave of Thrones?

To catch some sweet, sweet Comic Con Cash.  That's why.  It's funny, but I'm totally imagining pretty generic knight and pirate costumes and maybe someone in a batman/woman costume.  But yea, Porter Robinson would be cool.

Comic Con Cash?

Its the secret money they hand out when you attend the convention and use the secret handshake.

JK.  I mean its simply the cash every con goer brings.  Hundreds of millions of dollars are spent during the con, so every business within a ten mile radius wants to be a part of that.

My group is planning to go to this, but we just noticed the 'Upscale Fashionable Attire' dress code section in the disclaimer. Given that our normal con-wear doesn't generally fit this description, I'm wondering if they will lax this for the evening?

That's really weird because I went to this in St. Louis and they said cosplay was welcome and had no other dress codes (and this was not affiliated with or even around the same time any cons were going on). After all, it's a "rave", with djs spinning and lots of dancing. The music wasn't really for me and pretty much everyone else was also there just to see Hodor, so it was a lot of awkward standing around not knowing what we all had gotten ourselves into. Once he came on it was really fun though.

It might have to do with the venue? Omnia is trying to be an upscale club, their normal dress code is no athletic shoes, etc.

You'll have to call them to be sure, but I'm sure they'll understand most people are coming directly from the Con and won't have time to change (if they even packed something upscale...). FWIW, I went to the Cinephile party last year at Fluxx, which has a similar dress code, and they didn't care that people were in casual clothes.
