Has anyone stayed at the Intercontinental?  I can’t find reviews on our forum

That’s because it’s brand new.

Check TripAdvisor and Yelp. It’s supposed to be a 5-star brand...but the Yelp reviews suggest that this one is not off to a good start. The TripAdvisor reviews are slightly more flattering...slightly being the key word.

I know last year was the first year but it seemed like a lot of people were wanting it so I was hoping to find someone on here who stayed there last year

This is actually the first year the Intercontinental has been open for SDCC. I walked by it last year on my way from the Hampton and it wasn’t open. It opened in September 2018:

Ah gotcha. I didn’t may much attention to it last year but I remember the comments about it opening. Just didn’t remember the dates. I was at the westgate last year

If anyone saw a previous comment, it was a mistake.  Apparently, I was copying the wrong comment.

Anyway, I checked a minute after this comment, and it looked like the availability was gone.

Well I mean, there is a Wyndham Bayside with two beds (it's normally been a king bed that's shown up or two beds without full dates) on offer in the offer thread. Unless you mean the Gaslamp and not just downtown.

Those days are broken up but Yeah trying for Gaslamp or closer lol. My cousin is coming from Seattle and it’s his first time ever and it’s also the first for my wife. She couldn’t go the first year I’ve got back in and every year since I’ve pulled during pre reg. This is the first year we got them in during open reg so I’m just hoping to be able to be in the thick of it all for them. Especially with the shuttles not running 24 hrs this year. Yes I know there’s other ways to get around but you know what I mean.
