Advice for CCI's Cosplay Prop Policy
« on: July 15, 2019, 11:23:54 AM »
Hi all!
First timer here.
I read CCI's Cosplay Prop policy about checking in at one of their 2 stations, but could anyone help clarify when in the process this happens?
For example, for entering the Exhibit Hall on Thursday morning, do we just stay in the Everything Else line and eventually stop at one of their Weapons Checks stations, or are we supposed to be in a separate line ahead of time purely for Weapon Check and then go to the very back of the EE line once that is complete?
Thank you all for your time in advance!! :)

Stay in (one of) the EE lines in the front of the convention center with the mass of humanity, then once the doors open, ask one of the people monitoring the door where the stations are and they'll point them out. Both stations are towards the front of the center, so being up front is the quickest route. There is no separate line and they won't let you in early unless you're con talent, a volunteer, a vendor or have a helper's badge.

I stopped bringing cosplay props a few years ago as it was too much trouble and not worth the time-suck. YMMV. Enjoy the con!

Since there may be others who have this question (and may not be able to find it in this long "first-timer/veteran" advice thread), I'm going to take the liberty of splitting this post and the two posts after it and creating a new, separate thread in the "Cosplay" section of this forum.

Hopefully, other cosplayers on this forum, who were wondering the same thing, can get this info too.

Forum Housekeeping:
Split off the three above posts from the "Tips/Advice for First Timers and Veterans" thread and created a new thread using these posts.

Renamed new thread as "Advice on CCI's Cosplay Prop Policy."

Moved this new thread to the "Cosplay" forum.
