Magic: The Gathering

Those of you who know me know that I only care about one purchase every year at SDCC and that's the Hasbro Planeswalker set.  Thanks to You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login for helping me out the last couple of years!  Anyway Magic: The Gathering is now expanding with Universes Beyond.  This is where they will take existing IPs and put them in the game.  The next two UB sets will be LotR and Warhammer.  While I have mixed feeling on UB I am VERY excited for LotR!  I have lost count how many times I have watched the trilogy.  Here is a link with more information:

The next MtG set will be Strixhaven and released on April 23rd.  Strixhaven is very much inspired by the magic school genre and so there are sure to be nods to HP though not directly inspired by it.  There will be a Mystical Archive set for this as well and the artwork is stunning especially the Japanese cards which you can see below:

These cards will be super rare though you can find more in Collector booster boxes.  I am a huge fan of Ukiyo-e woodblock prints and to get these foil etched will be a prize in my collection.
