Interesting; CCI must be hoping for some extra cash to close out the year 🤔

I hope it's better than this year. Interesting that they are offering discounted tickets. Worried about sales?

I can't recall CCI ever having early bird pricing for any of their cons.

How was the attendance for this year's Wondercon? Did it sell out?

They used to have it for SDCC, with multiple tiers of "early."  Like, if you bought it at 2000 SDCC for 2001 SDCC, it would be, like, $40; if you buy if fall-winter it would go up to $60, winter 2001-early spring $75, early summer $90, at the door $100 (I'm spitballing actual prices, but I remember this from BITD, feeling like buying badges for the next year's con at the current year's con = a HUGE savings)

Like I said, I suspect it's more of a "get a bit more cash flow before the end of the year" more than anything else.  WonderCon always does pretty well, often selling out Saturday at least in advance, so I doubt they're that worried about sales.  I personally always have fun at WonderCon, though some years are 'better' than others.

Last year's WonderCon was a bit lackluster... I was actually searching for things to do, and they did not have the Arena programming. That being said, it was the first con after COVID, so there were likely some issues coming back.

BUT... the lackluster showing last year may result in a hit on attendance this year, particularly for 'locals'. That may also be an issue. But I agree that CCI is also looking for cash flow.

I think usually only Saturday sells out but I don’t think it sold out last year. It was fun. Nice to finally get out again but yeah not a ton of big panels or crowds, probably due to covid. Should be different this year?

I don't think they are sending anymore emails.  According to their website, the WonderCon badges are on sale now. Just log into your MemberID and select Buy WonderCon Badges.

The more things change, the more they stay the same

Does anyone know if they are going to have separate Wondercon Pro Badge Registration and if so, when that might be available?

They traditionally have: it's quite a bit later/closer to the event than they do for SDCC (obviously).
On the plus side, historically it's a free Pro badge + free guest badge for WonderCon!

Checking email after being sick a bit this week, and got this from CCI Tues. Nov. 15:

Didn't see any individual-day badges, only three-day ones, which I just purchased.
