Thank you
« on: November 19, 2023, 09:26:32 AM »
I wanted to create this note to say a special thank you to all the leads in the groups. I am well aware that everyone has lives, family, pets, work and other things and the fact that they take the time out to organize these events is simply amazing. This form has been a wealth of information for me. I was a little worried about accommodations and hotels when we went last year but I was happy to see information posted here and it helped us secure a room. Keeping in mind that all these things are voluntary and no one is getting paid, this forum continues provide insights
on the Con experience. Personally we've had some challenges and losses in our family that have been heartbreaking. The empathy and understanding some have shown is appreciated. I am hopeful to find a little joy at this event next year. Special thanks to those that helped along the way.

100%!!
I joined a line group quite awhile back, and the following fall joined a buying group (same general group of people).  Since then, it consistently amazes me how successful the groups are at helping people get badges.  The last few years as a Pro I've only needed to help others (which I was able to do pretty successfully this year, unlike last year!!), but the way our group specifically, and FOCC groups broadly, have been able to help all sorts of people get badges has really been wonderful to see.  Our group leader is highly organized, really patient with any tech questions, welcoming, etc. and I honestly believe our group, both the line group & buying group, is amazing!  I've been going to SDCC annually since 2000 and joining this group was an absolute game changer for me, and in no small part because our leader is so awesome!!  :drinking25:

I found this group when doing research after getting badges for the first time. I would have been lost if not for the group, So in return I try to help others myself. Good group of people in this forum :smilie_happy_clapping:

That's what FoCC is all about. We are a stronger community for working together, which helps us all have a better con!

YES! After a few years on my own, I'm so thankful to have joined this group and for our amazing line group/buying group leader! This community is amazing, and all thanks goes to the leaders here!
