This one was hard. I know he had a lot of problems in the past but he was so young.

They really were. They did so much for Habitat for Humanity.

Not something comic con-related but of historical importance.  Henry Kissinger passed away.  He was 100.  He was a Secretary of State and a National Security Adviser in both the Nixon and Ford administrations.

I’ve known of Kissinger as long as I’ve known my parents, lol.

I was reading a 1970's Fantastic Four comic from recently, when Kissinger was Secretary of State, and of COURSE he was in cahoots w/Doctor Doom!

Even though I knew he was quite old, this one I felt deeply.  The shows he created were and still are a part of my growing up.  Part of the narrative of our country at the time they were first aired, and are still quite relevant today.

I especially remember how All in the Family spawned other shows. The spinoffs seemed to go on forever.  Thank you Norman Lear.

Actor Ryan O'Neal, who became a big star in "Love Story" (1970) and who he and his daughter Tatum O'Neal won Oscars for "Paper Moon" (1973) and later appeared in "The Driver" (1978), passed away.  He was 82.

Big fan of "The Driver". O'Neal was Steve McQueen cool in that one. "What's Up Doc" is another great performance even though it was a 180 from "The Driver".
