Lego Exclusives in 2012?
« on: June 19, 2012, 12:20:39 AM »
Has anybody heard if Lego will be having an exclusive this year? I am frequently searching, but I can never seem to find anything related to the subject. Any help is appreciated!

Lego is good at keeping their exclusives secret until preview night. They reveal their exclusives on preview night so you'll have to wait until then.

Lego has had them for the past few years so there's no reason to think they won't have an exclusive again.  last year it was a repackaged item they sold later on.

Lego first debuted at sdcc in 2005 with their batman mini figure with sound chip.

So, Lego exclusives are unknown until preview night? Do they announce something or do you have to walk there and see what they have?

They sometimes reveal a theme (like star wars or indiana jones) but they wont reveal the actual item until preview night. Even then, they sometimes only show the box and not the actual model

last year there was no news on any of the toy sites that reveal sdcc exclusives about what the lego exclusive was going too be. I found out the day of preview night what the exclusive would be when I came across the head of the lego booth and asked him.

In 2010 they had the cube dudes which were about $70, and I clearly remember that being announced pretty early on, about 3-4 weeks before the convention.

I didn't know about the cube dudes until I got to the lego booth on preview night and I ALWAYS search the net for lego sdcc exclusive news annually.

Lego never gives out anything for free. My buddy works for Lego and nothing is for free. Now there has been in the past in front of the booth a small table where I've gotten free Lego comic books and newsletters.

Guess you didn't Google late enough? Supposedly posted the day before the con started.

Not by Lego but sometimes by WB. We got a few Batman & Joker box set figures a few years ago when they had a mini scavenger hunt task thing and my friend won a green lantern last year.

They gave did give free stuff last year. They gave away the Green Lantern and Batman mini figures from Preview Night-Sunday. These are the ones that go for 150.00-225.00 a set so yes to correct you all LEGO DOES give freebies out. The same mini figures were given out for free as well at random times at the WB booth and DC booth.

With all these contradicting stories I wonder if the rest of you are talking about the same convention sometimes.
