Makeup Help
« on: March 15, 2016, 11:19:44 AM »
Situation is this is my first time ever putting on makeup, going to a comiccon, or coloring my hair (sounds like a recipe for disaster).

Since I have no idea how to make the Yondo fin, I found someone else who had a good workaround, color a red stripe down the center of your hair, this is what I'm hoping to accomplish:

This is the facepaint I bought:

Which is probably lighter on your skin.

This is the colored gel I bought:

My question is in order to blend it all together I'm sure some cosmetics would help, problem is, I have no clue what that would be?  What is that stuff women brush on their face?  Should I get some blue of that?  I also thought of maybe putting curlers in that red stripe and blow drying it cause my chances of flaring my hair up like that to look good are slim?

Any help would be appreciated.

Most do airbrushing to get this look, if you can't do air brushing you might try Ben Nye.   I have only dabbled in this tough so don't hold me to my word.

Do you mean foundation? Regular foundation doesn't come in colors like blue. The only thing you can do is paint really. NCDS recommended some good brands but you're probably too short on time to order any.

I honestly think for your first cosplay, you should maybe skip anything that requires this much paint. You'll also want a sealer to keep the makeup from rubbing off and fading through out the day. Maybe just go as a Ravenger, generic version? Plus you don't know how your skin and hair is going to react to the products.

I'm kinda running out of time on changes, the air brush seems like a great idea if I continue doing this.

I'm not sure what a 'sealer' is?  I did see colored powders in the ladies cosmetic section (while I was trying to act like I was not looking).

As far as how my skin/hair will react...I'm hoping for the best, I read a lot of reviews on what I've purchased.  People at work are hoping that I'll be wearing a baseball cap Monday morning.

Sealer is a product you apply on your makeup when you're done applying. It seals it into place. You might see blue eye shadow but there is no blue foundation.

I looks like sealer is something you can't buy at Walgreens, I do see it on Amazon but it's too late now to order things.  What will happen if your not using sealer?

It might not last as long. Might rub off easy if you're someone who touches their face a lot.  I'd recommend keeping your paint on you that way you can do touch ups in the bathroom if needed.

That was definitely one of the items I was packing.  I read that baby powder was good for that also but I'm not even sure how putting powder on your face can seal anything.

(So far, the cosplay looks really awesome, BuzLtBeer!)
