Then, too classy for me. I'm a stumble into bed fully clothed sort of person during SDCC.  One year, I think I ate Bayfront nachos in bed at least 3 times as my main meal of the day.  I'll let the vips be fancy.

This was such a great idea.  I had it all planned in my head.  The FoCC headquarters, with our own lounge, we would have some celebrity guests and secret panels...::sigh::

I become a 92 year old woman (no offrnse to 92 year old women) during SDCC. I'm usually a 4-6 hr sleeper and night owl kinda gal. At SDCC, I've missed more than a few things because I fell asleep during the early evening hours.

Those things are legit good.  Or maybe i was just super hungry.  I don't know if I had them last year but the year before I think I ate then nearly every night.  Year before, I lived off of gluten free blueberry muffins at MMM.  I basically eat one food for the entire convention. I need to change that I guess. :)

How big of a group do you think we would have to get to negotiate a decent rate at another hotel?  Would anyone else even be willing to do a block for a new group? Or are all locked in with studios and cci?

Maybe if we went for one of the medium sized hotels, it could be successful. Some entity wrapped up the Pendry pretty tightly and quickly.  Who that is, we should pretty easily be able to ferret out closer to, or during the con for sure.  I am going to see what I can find out.  I plan to be there a few days early.  After all, as a 'cult', shouldn't we have some kind of headquarters?  :)

I'd be willing to bet that you could figure out who locked up the Pendry if someone were to go by the hotel for 30 minutes during the con and see who comes in/out, look for signs (e.g. 'Welcome group So-and-So') and/or chit chat with people in the lobby.

I think I've noticed a slight change in Pendry's status.

I would swear that  Wednesday had been X'd out on their website, but only Thursday, Friday, and Saturday are.
