Bit random, but today I drove by the location of the famously haunted Toys R Us and it is now one of those Halloween "Spirit" pop-up stores. So there's that.

Who is behind the relaunch of the Toys "R" Us stores in the US?

Tru Kids Brands, the proud parent of the Toys "R"Us, Geoffrey the Giraffe and Babies"R"Us brands and b8ta, the software-powered experiential retailer have entered into a joint venture to bring Toys "R"Us stores back to the United States and reimagine the toy retail experience for kids and families.

What is different between the new Toys "R"Us and the old Toys"R"Us stores?

The new Toys"R"Us stores will serve as must-visit destinations for kids to learn, play, and fall in love with the latest and most popular toys, and for parents to have fun with their children and ignite their own childlike sense of play. The stores will be highly interactive with new events and activities every day, from seeing toys displayed out of the box to test before making a purchase, to visiting different brand stations to driving learning through play embracing STEAM, or just having fun with Geoffrey® the Giraffe in the open playspace.

How can I be notified when Toys"R"Us comes to my city or when new products are featured at the store?

Follow Toys"R"Us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter for updates and announcements on when we will be launching in a city near you. Check back at toysrus.com for store and product news.

When will product be available on ToysRus.com?

We are working on the relaunch of ToysRus.com and will share news as it becomes available.

Will you honor previously issued Toys"R"Us gift cards, store credit, rewards points, Groupon or other coupons?

Unfortunately, we cannot. Pursuant to the Toys "R" Us, bankruptcy in March 2018, consumers were given the opportunity to redeem their gift cards prior to stores closing. As we are an entirely new entity, it is impossible to honor any financial agreements made by the previous company.

I purchased an item at your stores prior to them closing and I need assistance with a warranty claim or replacement part. Can you help?

Please visit the manufacturer's website for assistance.

Will there be baby products at the new locations/when are Babies"R"Us stores opening?

The new Toys"R"Us stores will not feature baby products. Plans to bring back Babies"R"Us in the United States are underway, and Tru Kids will provide additional detail as it becomes available.

Are there career opportunities with the new Toys "R" Us?

We have numerous exciting and rewarding career opportunities at all levels as we look to bring back the Toys"R"Us brand in the US. We encourage you to stay in touch with us on our career page for news and opportunities.

I want to be a supplier/service provider for Toys"R"Us. How do I do that?

Please direct all inquiries to [email protected]

I have such mixed feelings about this....so many were sad when they closed, for what looked like forever. Now they are back, and hooked in with Target for online ordering. I want my 5% redcard discount!  ::)
It is 2020, so...where's my flyin' car??!!

As of this month, all Target branding, information, and product links have been removed from the Toys “R” Us website.

All purchases made through the current incarnation of toysrus.com are being made through the Amazon Associates Program.

Somewhat ironically, it was 20 years ago that Toys “R” Us made a deal with Amazon to power its e-commerce business. On Aug. 10, 2000, Amazon Founder and CEO Jeff Bezos and then-Toys “R” Us CEO John Eyler announced a 10-year pact between the two retailers.

Just four years later, the pair landed in court with Toys “R” Us suing Amazon for breach of contract. In 2006, Geoffrey and Co. ultimately prevailed against Amazon.

Now, just two years after Toys “R” Us liquidated its massive U.S. operations — and a large part of its global footprint — the company is using its site to earn commission through an affiliate program that’s open to nearly everyone.

Neither Target nor Tru Kids Brands responded to requests for comment.
